The new traffic signal at Gilmer Rd and Midlothian Rd has been activated. Work also started last week to resurface Gilmer Rd from Schwerman Rd to north of Cardinal Dr/Crescent Dr. The pavement was milled down 2” and longitudinal joint sealant was applied. This week the contractor will clean and place fresh oil, then pave hot-mix asphalt surface. Daily lane closures with flaggers will continue to complete this work. The final pavement markings are expected to be completed at the end of the week.
General site cleanup will be ongoing as the project gets close to completion!
